San Diego. Home of the best beaches, historic landmarks, and mochi. Lemme tell you, if there is one thing this spring break confirmed for me it was this: SoCal has my heart and as die-hard as this east coast girl is, I would kill to be a west coaster. So I got to pretend for a week.
I mean, I would permanently smell like coconut tanning lotion, salt water and margaritas if I had the choice. Thankfully, spring break gave us the perfect excuse to escape to this American paradise. My sister and I were craving some serious seaside therapy, and so we definitively told my bro-in-law “this spring break, we are going to drive until we hit the ocean” and as usual, he made the dreams come true. Respect.
I’ve always had this dream of finding some of those docks right on the ocean and taking photos underneath it, and this spring, more than just our vacation wishes came true. It was this girls photog dreamboat, and we tasted our way through the whole city making new stops every day. Pacific Beach had it all, and it’s cliffside shore just took my breath away. Bikers, hikers, seashore collectors and a bustling downtown beach hub made this place the perfect prescription. We divided our time between the ocean and touring the city with stops at places like the Gaslamp, the penthouse of the Marriott, and cute little main streets that did glitter tattoos for the girls and had a former Cupcake Wars champions bakery for me! Like really- I was on cloud nine.
My semester in Vegas was a dream in every way, and spending time with my family adventuring San Diego was just one small pinch of it. Join me in taking a nostalgic scroll through the highlight reel because I’m already dying to go back.
Plus- turns out they have a pretty stellar military base there *cough cough* fingers crossed;)
