Grand Canyon. What a sight. Grand hardly does it justice. As the Madre and I packed up my yellow bug to drive literally across the country- we made sure to stop and take in a piece of God’s creation on the way. Now, was it that graceful? Oh not in the slightest my friend.
Did you know it snows at the Grand Canyon?…like…a lot?…often?
I guess that should have made sense to Mom and I, however, it took us driving to the tippy top during a blizzard in a tiny yellow bug with a hitch on the back and quite a lot of screaming and prayers but by george, we made it. And we saw nothing. Just a lot of white and vast empty space that made our tears from laughter stick to our cheeks because we only assumed the beautiful Grand Canyon was out there. Next time I guess *insert palm to face*
Luckily, I was able to snag some photos right before the top at a little pull off where we met some natives to the Canyon and purchased some of their hand-made dream catchers. If the Canyon was even Grandier than this, I can’t even imagine.
So it wasn’t a total wash, but we definitely look forward to going back. For now, I hope you got a good laugh out of our luck- I know I did.
